REMBRANDT:
Rembrandt lighting can be achieved using just one light, as well as a reflector, or two lights. It is one of the most popular lighting methods in photography because it produces images that appear natural and sharp. The main thing you attempt when using rembrandt lighting is trying to achieve the triangle beneath the eye and above the nose just by using shadows from the lighting.

SHORT:
When using short lighting you focus on the side of the persons face. (side that faces away from the camera), Short lighting focuses on thinning the subjects face, this is why it is also known as "narrow lighting". This type of lighting is used a lot with celebrities and models in magazines and images that are portrayed over the internet because they say it makes the model look more "thin"

BUTTERFLY:
Butterfly lighting is also used for models and celebrities, its known as the most popular method of lighting in Hollywood, because obviously this is where all the models and celebrities are! Butterfly lighting portrays a small triangle just underneath the models nose which makes the subjects face look more structured and aligned. It is supposed to enhance the cheekbones and makes the neck look more thin. For this method you need to place the main light higher than the models head so it is pointing down until you get the shadow underneath the models nose and chin.

EQUIPMENT USED IN A PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO:
HONEYCOMB:
The honey-comb dish is named after the honeycomb bees produce because it has the exact same structure as that, honeycomb is used to get a tight structured lighting on one beam, instead of having wide lighting.
BEAUTY DISH:
The beauty dish is an attachment which sticks onto a studio light, its an oval shaped light and is mainly used within the fashion industry, the beauty dish creates a very contrasted way of lighting and puts a main focus on the models face.
RING FLASH:
This lighting is also used within the fashion industry and is also been brought into the make up industry over the past few years because this light focuses on main structures and makes it obvious and leaves no shadows on the image, as for when make up people use it, it focuses on the colours of the make up and makes it all stand out more.
SNOOT:
A snoot light is mainly used so the photographer can focus on where he or she is wanting to direct the light on the models body, this lighting is a very strong light and makes the image look really focused and moody. It chooses its main focus and then shadows the rest of the image.
SOFTBOX:
Soft box lighting is the most common type of lighting used with portraiture, only because this type of lighting focuses on making the skin and the rest of the models face more clear and neutral. The soft-box leaves the most appealing light shadows on the model and this is why it is preferred by so many photographers.
REFLECTOR:
The reflector is only ever used to bounce light from the studio light onto the main subject of the image, a lot of different types of lighting can be achieved by using a reflector, E.G - Rembrandt lighting.
