This shoot was the first idea I had for the visual narrative unit. All I did for this shoot was ask four of my closest friends if they would help me out by doing a portraiture shoot, I decided I wanted to take just a normal natural picture of them so people who view this blog would be able to see the comparison of the image.

For this photo shoot I decided I wanted to look at how to make-up can change the way a person looks drastically, I decided because I am so use to seeing models photographed in their day - to - day make up, I wanted to take it to the next level and experiment with different drastic looks. I set them all a task and they all tried to their best ability to accomplish it.

I asked each of the models to do a look of their own choice, I was interested by how they all chose different looks. I am really happy with how all of these look and how they all managed to turn out.
For this shoot I used a nikon D7500 and just a standard bright lamp for the lighting as I had to work with what I had at home, Each make up look my models decided to do shows what kind of person they are, they all used the colours they like and the colours they usually wear, they just wore them in a different way than usual.

I attempted to get inspiration for this shoot from Pinterest and Instagram. I typed in "un orginal make-up looks" and I attempted to put together a mood board for my models to get inspiration from. For this shoot I only had to focus on the make-up because I am only doing portraiture shoots for my visual narrative unit, so I didn't have to pay any interest in the models clothing.
I didn't have to use any technical codes on the camera through-out this shoot, except for lowering the exposure to -0.2 through the whole shoot because the lighting was the same the whole way through, all the exposure did was make the make-up stand out a little more.
Through-out this shoot, I only mainly used the flash on certain people. For example I used flash on Mia, the girl with bright coloured make-up and glitter to make the image stand out a bit more than it already did; I think this did really work and really helped define the image a lot.
Technical editing all started once I started taking the images as I would look through the camera and delete the first ones I wasn't 100% sure about. I have kept a majority of the images I liked but I am going to adjust them all and put the ones that don't stand out the most all into a contact sheet, so I can still see all the different images. I am really looking happy with how these images have all ended up turning out, I would like to make them work further by editing them in different ways of other photographers, and editing them to a more enhanced way.
